How Can Counselling Help?
Counselling can help you to explore and work through emotional difficulties you may be experiencing that could be affecting your thoughts and behaviours. It is a space for you to share things that you may be finding difficult to talk to your friends and family about.
These difficulties may be from your past that are now causing problems in your present or from a more recent trauma you have experienced in your life such as a relationship break-up, loss of someone close to you or difficulties with getting to sleep or sleep not feeling like sleep anymore, but feeling more like an escape.
I will not tell you what to do, but will instead support you to find your own solutions.
As an Integrative Counsellor I use a variety of approaches complimented with a creative style of working using visualisations, art, Sandplay and Play Therapy which can be tailored to best meeting your needs as the client and what you would like to achieve. If you choose to try out this creative style of support it can be helpful during the therapy sessions when things may become a little challenging to express your self with the use of words alone. It can help you to articulate and to express your emotions in a non-intrusive manner.
